Jas Run Coach (“Jas”) is a private experimental running-coaching project operated in the United Kingdom.

Jas connects to third-party fitness services such as Strava and uses AI tools including ChatGPT/OpenAI to provide personalised training insights and coaching summaries.

What Data Jas Processes

Depending on the connected services and features used, Jas may process:

  • Running and workout activity data
  • Distance, pace, elevation, cadence, heart rate, and related metrics
  • Training plans and scheduled workouts
  • Coaching summaries and plan-vs-actual analysis
  • Basic athlete/profile identifiers required for syncing
  • Technical logs required for operation and debugging

Users choose which services to connect and what data to provide.

How Data Is Used

Jas uses data solely to:

  • Sync workout information from connected services
  • Generate coaching insights and summaries
  • Compare planned vs completed training
  • Maintain continuity of coaching context
  • Operate and secure the application

Jas does not sell personal data.

Jas does not intentionally use athlete data to train AI models.

Third-Party Services

Jas relies on third-party providers which may process data independently under their own terms and privacy policies.

These may include:

  • OpenAI
  • Strava
  • Supabase
  • Vercel

When using Jas through ChatGPT or connected APIs, relevant information may be sent to those providers in order for the service to function. OpenAI Help Center

AI and ChatGPT Usage

Jas integrates with OpenAI services, including ChatGPT and related APIs.

Coaching requests and related activity context may be processed by OpenAI according to OpenAI’s own policies. OpenAI Help Center

Users should avoid sharing sensitive medical information through Jas.

Security and Access

Reasonable efforts are made to:

  • Keep credentials server-side only
  • Separate athlete profiles using private tokens
  • Limit exposed API responses to coaching-related information
  • Avoid exposing raw authentication credentials to GPT integrations

However, no internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security.

Jas is an experimental hobby project and is provided on an “as is” basis.

Data Retention

Data may remain stored for as long as required to operate Jas and connected coaching features.

Users who no longer wish to use Jas should disconnect connected services and stop using the application.

Medical Disclaimer

Jas is not a doctor, physiotherapist, dietician, or licensed medical professional.

All coaching guidance is informational only and should not be treated as medical advice.

Users remain responsible for their own training, recovery, and health decisions.

Changes

This policy may be updated over time as Jas evolves.
